Ontarians can expect ServiceOntario renewal extensions to continue, despite the province moving into Step One of its reopening plan on Friday. Since March 2020, Ontario temporarily paused renewals of a number of documents, including driver’s licences, licence plate stickers, photo cards and parking permits, extending their validity past the original expiry dates. This will continue until further notice. Here is a partial list of the province’s extended documents and services:
• Driver’s licences expiration dates• Temporary driver’s licences• Driving instructor licence and driving schools• Ontario Photo Card• Licence plate sticker validation (including International Registration Plan)• Ten-day special permits and temporary validation• Requirement to register a vehicle within six days• Requirement to change an address or vehicle within six days• Safety Standards Certificate and Structural Inspection Certificate• Accessible parking permit validation.
