The oddly shaped brown corner four-story home in Brooklyn NY looks like a large rectangle cut at an odd angle, it was assembled on a 25-by-100 “ lot with cleverly stacked shipping containers piled together to create a slanted shape home. The final result is a 3,500-square-foot, five-bedroom house with what the real estate listing describes as “New York City’s last permitted wood-burning fireplace residence, now that they are banned in new construction. It has a home office, terrace, den, 5 large bedrooms and dining room, rooms for enetrtainment and comes complete with two driveways and a garage, all for $5 million which is almost a giveaway. Old shipping containers that have been sitting at waterfront docks and rusting for decades are the new building material of the future for those who can afford them…..Would you live in a shipping container?….Ed
