Open And Closed Family Day Monday Feb. 21st 2022

The Family Day holiday is on Monday, February 21st. That means there will be a number of closures on Monday.

In general you can expect the following to be closed:

• Malls (Lime Ridge, Eastgate Square, Lynden Park, The Centre on Barton, The Pen Centre, Fairview, Mapleview Centre, Burlington Centre, Conestoga, and Cambridge Centre.)
• Banks.
• Most Major Grocery Stores.
• LCBO locations.
• Beer Store locations.
• Public Libraries.
• Government and Administrative Offices.

Transit should also be on a Holiday or Weekend schedule, if it is operating at all.

• Grand River Transit will operate on a holiday service schedule on Monday.
• St. Catharines Transit on a holiday schedule.
• Niagara Falls Transit on a holiday schedule.
• Welland Transit will have no daytime or evening service Monday.
• Brantford Transit will have no service.
• Brantford Lift will have no service.
• HSR buses will run on a holiday schedule.
• ATS Darts will run on a holiday schedule
• Burlington Transit will operate a holiday schedule.
• GO Transit Trains and buses are operating on a Saturday schedule.

There will be regular garbage, recycling and green bin collection on Monday, except in Hamilton where Monday’s collection will be postponed to Tuesday, pushing back the following days for the week.

Community Recycling Centres and Transfer Stations will be closed.

Recreation centres may either be closed or on a modified schedule. Though a good number may also be offering special Family Day programming.

Canada Post Outlets will be open on Feb 21. Standard mail collection and delivery will take place on Family Day.

Shoppers Drug Mart will have many locations open Monday, but not all. Family day hours can be seen on the Shoppers store locator map.

Quite a few store locations will be unavailable, while others will be operating on reduced hours.

Obviously there may be some exceptions so call ahead before you head out to be sure!
