Film Production Back With a Vengeance in Ontario

Last year was a blockbuster for film and television production in Ontario.

The province says 394 productions made last year brought in $2.88-billion in spending for the economy.

That figure comes from ‘Ontario Creates’, a provincial agency that facilitates economic development, investment and collaboration in creative industries.

It’s up from the 232 productions in 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic forced a shutdown of film and television work for part of the year.
