A Number Of Skittles, Starbursts, Life Savers Brand Products Recalled

Candy lovers need to check the labels of some products from popular brands. Mars Wrigley has issued a voluntary recall of treats under the Skittles, Starburst, and Life Savers brand names due to the potential presence of metal fragments.

Over a dozen products were recalled in all.

Importantly, none of the recalled items are traditional Skittles, Starbursts, or Life Savers candies. Instead, they are specific packages of the “Gummies” variety of these products. Mars Wrigley explains that these items “were manufactured by a third party and distributed in the United States, Canada, and Mexico” and that they could contain “a very thin metal strand embedded in the gummies or loose in the bag.”

The company says so far no illnesses have been reported.

Health Canada suggests this recall is aimed particularly at the retail level, but should you have purchased any of these products do not consume them and return them to the point of purchase.
