It’s a long weekend! You know what that means. Time to look at what’s open and what’s closed. This Monday, Aug 1st is Civic Holiday Monday and that’s going to bring a number of adjusted hours in various regions as well as numerous closures.
Here are some changes you can expect:
- Most major banks will be closed.
- All Public Library locations will be closed on on either/or/both Sunday, July 31 and Monday, Aug. 1.
- All community centres will be closed on Monday, Aug. 1st or have adjusted hours.
- Federal, municipal and provincial buildings will all be closed.
- Post offices will be closed on Monday.
- Animal shelters and control will be closed Aug. 1.
- Most transit will be running on a Sunday or Holiday schedule.
- Indoor sport facility and offices will be closed on Monday, Aug. 1, while the outdoor sports fields will remain open for scheduled rentals.
- Many indoor pool facilities will be closed on Monday, Aug. 1.
- Seniors centres will either be closed or run on a modified schedule.
- There is no waste collection on August 1st for Hamilton or Waterloo region. Collection days will be one day later.
- LCBO stores will be closed on Monday.
- Most Beer Stores locations will be closed, some will be open with adjusted hours.
- Many malls will be closed, though some will remain open with adjusted hours.
- Major grocery stores like Fortinos, Metro, FreshCo and No Frills will be closed on Monday.
- Many Shopper’s Drug Mart locations will be open on Aug. 1st, but not all.
- Most tourist destinations will be open and operational but may have adjusted hours.
