Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could save money with the press of a button? Amazingly, drivers can, thanks to a useful hack during hot weather for saving fuel. As well as helping out your wallet, the tip also solves a long-answered question, explaining the use of a little-known button found in every car. This tip is backed by The Automobile Association. It’s the air recirculation button, which uses a design of a car with an arrow inside as its symbol. Essentially what it’s going to do for you, is it’s going to recirculate the air inside the car. First, If you’re sitting behind other cars where you’ll be getting exhaust fumes sucked into your car, you use this button so that the air inside your car recirculates and you don’t smell that outside air. Plus if you have been blasting the air conditioning to try to stay comfortable and keeping it on all the time, turn the AC off after a few minutes when the cabin is cool and use the recirculation button to keep cold air trapped inside the car. Of course, the cheapest way to stay cool while keeping your fuel consumption down is to switch off air conditioning and wind down the windows, when travelling at lower speeds such as when you’re in the city. But it’s interesting to note, AC might be the best bet for higher speeds, as your car will be more likely to experience drag when the windows are down, causing your car to work harder….Have you ever used the recirculating button?……Ed
