Going Bananas over Bananas on World Banana Lovers Day!

If there was a day to go bananas over bananas then today is that day!

Why? because it is World Banana Lovers Day!

Did you know that…..

• Ripe bananas glow bright indigo under a black light (ultraviolet or UV). Researchers believe this is a ‘lunch is ready’ signal to banana eating animals that can see UV light!
• The banana is classified botanically as a true berry – a many seeded pulpy fruit.
• that supposedly, one of the first shipments of bananas to reach the colonies was in 1690 at Salem, Mass. They tried boiling them with pork. It took nearly 200 years after that culinary disaster for bananas to catch on with North Americans.
