Parents could probably stand to be a little more open minded when it comes to their kids music if they want to know more about their interests. A new survey by OnePoll and Kahoot queried 2,000 parents with kids ages 3 to 12 and found that 47% of parents revealed they can’t stand their kids’ favorite tunes. At the same time, their offspring tend to get excited when their parents take an interest in or show knowledge about something they like, like their favourite shows. That’s according to 63% of adults.
Those shows are typically where the songs come from.
While two in five parents were familiar with the movies “Frozen” (43%) and “Moana” (42%), as well as the infamous “Baby Shark” (40%), only 29% knew of the Cartoon Network show “Steven Universe.”
