According to a recent study three in four U.S. residents who have traveled in the last five years claim that more than anything else, they went for the food (74%). Overall, respondents say that if they could visit any country based on their cuisine alone, they’d go to Italy, France, Spain and Japan.
74% of those surveyed identify as “foodies” — someone who has a particular interest in food — more so than music lovers (66%), travelers (54%), and bookworms (53%). However, the same percentage of “foodies” said that food doesn’t need to be fancy to be great (74%).
