Top 10 Countries That Spend The Most Time Online

People around the world are spending far too much time online. A recent look into how much time we spend online was done by Atlas VPN. Using data on internet usage trends among internet users 16 to 64 years old, the VPN service found the average time spent online last year was 397 minutes daily, or six hours and 37 minutes. That’s every day!

They broke it down by nation and this is where it got surprising. Because the U.S., Canada, The U.K, even Japan didn’t make the top 10! In fact it was South Africa which came in at number 1 with the avergae person logging 578 minutes, or 9 and a half hours ever day.

Here at the Top 10:

1. South Africa; 578 minutes
2. Brazil; 572 minutes
3. Philippines; 554 minutes
4. Argentina; 541 minutes
5. Colombia; 541 minutes
6. Chile; 516 minutes
7. Mexico; 487 minutes
8. Malaysia; 486 minutes
9. Thailand; 486 minutes
10. Russia; 477 minutes

The U.S. was in 20th place with 419 minutes a day, and Canada came in at 23, just under the worldwide average, at 395 minutes.
