Q: Almost all pet parents said they were protective of their pets, yet only ¼ of them do this for their safety to protect them. What is it?
A: Buckle them in while traveling in the car. 41% let them ride in the front seat with them.
While 94 percent of the pet parents said they felt protective of their pets, only 23 percent of those surveyed tried to safely buckle their dogs in when traveling by car. Overall, 48 percent didn’t even own any dog safety driving gear and 41 percent let their dog ride in the front seat often.
_ A study (from Volvo and Harris Poll) revealed that many devoted dog parents are unaware of the precautions they need to take to ensure their pet is safe while they are on the road. The study found 69 percent of pet owners considered their dogs to be part of the family, with 23 percent going as far as saying they consider their canines to be children. In the same poll, 38 percent of dog owners said they do not go on vacations when their pups can’t join them.
