Q: This study says that those who did this for 2 weeks enjoyed immense improvements to their mental health and wellbeing. What is it?
A: They took a mobile internet break and stopped doom scrolling.
Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin ran a study — and the results were pretty surprising.
After just 14 days, 75% of people said their mental health got a lot better. The best part? They didn’t have to give up their phones completely. They could still call, text, and use their computers. The only catch was an app that blocked them from using the internet on their phones.
They also found people had better attention spans, they slept better and overall well being improved and spent more time being social, doing hobbies and getting outside.
