WORKING IN THE YARD IS GOOD FOR YOU
Researchers say that homeowners burn more than 80,000 calories a year by working in the yard and doing some gardening. And while that number may seem huge, it really comes to about 220 calories a day. But since every little bit helps, keep digging in the dirt and mowing your lawn.
The key to success is to make sure you are working in the yard consistently throughout the year. Even just mowing the lawn on a regular basis can burn an additional 4,000 calories in a year. Gardening can burn more than 3,000, according to the study.
