What Is The Perfect Indoor Temp? Are You Engaged In Thermostat Wars At Work Or Home?

I have worked in offices where one minute it’s hot the next, freezing.  I know co-workers bring and leave a sweater at work.  So what is your comfort level?

What’s the perfect AC setting for you home in summer? According to the Department of Energy in the U.S, 78 degrees (26c) is the right setting to balance savings and comfort. The DOE says you should set your thermostat to 78  (26c) when you’re home, 85 (29c) when you’re at work or away, and 82 (28) when you’re sleeping.

I will admit we are not saving any money in our house.  We are all about comfort.  That being said, between you and me, our house is freezing!  During the day we keep it at 23 and 21 at night.  These are not the best numbers for conservation but our house is warm upstairs and we have pets so we tend to keep it on the cool side.  How about you?
