Although it was hot in southwestern Ontario yesterday as people enjoyed Victoria Day. Much of southern Ontario was affected by a blanket of heat that is expected to continue today. We'll have details coming up in the forecast. Canada Border Services agents confirmed a major system outage impacted 11 of the country's busiest airports. The disruption started yesterday but has since been resolved, although officials warn delays may persist. The outage disrupted processing at aviation hubs, including Pearson, Billy Bishop and Hamilton's airport. Another black eye for the Toronto Police Department. Police say three of their officers have been charged vacationing in Barcelona. Now police won't say what they're accused of, but media reports in Spain say three officers have been charged in the rape and assault of a sex worker. The officers are being suspended as they return to the country. A group trying to break Israel's naval blockade of Gaza said about a dozen Canadians are among the activists detained by Israeli forces in the interception of the latest flotilla. 500 activists were aboard 54 boats that set sail from Turkey Thursday. And StatsCan will release its April reading for inflation today and set to publish the Consumer Price Index for the month. The annual rate of inflation in March rose to 2.4%. They face Carolina in the Eastern Conference finals starting Thursday. PWHL playoffs, Montreal lost to Ottawa 2-1, but still has a 2-1 series lead. World Men's Hockey Championship preliminary round, Canada beat Denmark 5-1. NBA playoff Western Conference Finals. Oklahoma City lost to San Antonio in double overtime. San Antonio leads 1-0. Hamilton Shay Gilgeous-Alexander, meanwhile, won the NBA's Most Valuable Player award for the second straight year. And tonight in the WNBA, Toronto is in Phoenix at 10. Light 92 weather.
