I'm Stacey Englehart. A longtime Canadian news veteran has passed away. Lloyd Robertson's family confirmed to the Canadian Press, the news anchor died last night. The Stratford native got his start in broadcasting in 1952, eventually moving on to CTV. He was named a member of the Order of Canada, the Canadian Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and became the first journalist to be inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame. He was 92. States of emergency declared in St. Catharines and Lincoln after two storms dumped a combined 250 millimeters on parts of Niagara in less than a week. Officials say the historic storms have overwhelmed roads, sewers, flooded homes and businesses. The storms have also eroded parts of the city shoreline. Provincial police say a child was found using a pillow instead of an approved booster seat during a traffic stop on the 401. Officers say they pulled a vehicle over doing 153 in a 100 near South Dundas. The driver was charged with stunt driving, got his vehicle impounded for two weeks, his license suspended for 30 days. Police say speeding and improper child restraints greatly increases the risk of serious injuries. And after a long wait, the Gordie Howe International Bridges multi-use pedestrian path officially opens this morning. Now it is open every day in the summer from 8 to 8, but the last entry is at 7. Now the number of people allowed on the path is limited. You need to have your cross-border travel documents and be prepared because the walk takes about 45 minutes to bike across. It's about 20 and that does not include the wait once you get to border processing. Light 92 sports baseball. Yesterday the Jays lost to Houston 7-2.
