Three days before we ring in the new year and a large portion of Ontario is under a weather advisory. There are two alerts for the Brantford area, snow squall watch and a wind warning. Environment Canada warns snow squall are possible today and tomorrow with near 0 visibility and blowing snow and winds gusting upwards of 90 kilometers. You're being asked to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating road conditions. The Long Point Region Conservation Authority issued a flood outlook for the entire watershed, including the Lake Erie shoreline. A man taken into custody after an hours-long standoff with police in Brant County. Police were called Saturday initially for a health concern, didn't get a response when they knocked on the door. Police said they eventually reached the homeowner who told them he had guns and was prepared to use them. After hours of negotiations, police entered the home early yesterday and arrested the man. He is being held for a bail hearing. And Canadian travelers could face more airline disruptions as labor tensions persist in the aviation sector. Strikes by flight attendants with Air Canada and mechanics with WestJet since 2024, along with potential action from Porter, WestJet pilots and Air Transit staff highlight ongoing contract disputes. Winners included San Fran, Miami, New England, Cleveland, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Jacksonville, Seattle, the Giants. Tonight the Rams are in Atlanta.
