
York Police have charged a Toronto man in an alleged hate-motivated assault on a Muslim employee of a Markham, hotel.
York Regional Police say officers it happened at a hotel near Highway 7 East and Commerce Valley Drive West shortly after 3 a.m. on Sept. 28.
A 54-year-old hotel employee was found with serious head injuries and taken to a hospital for treatment.
The investigation continues and police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
Police in Hamilton arrested a suspect and seized a handgun and drugs after a hit-and-run collision.
They say officers responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash inear King Street East and Fairholt Road North, Friday at around 7:45 p-m.
Investigators say the suspect who fled on foot from the scene was later arrested without any incident.
Ontario is expanding access to in vitro fertilization.
In a release, the province says it is supporting 25 new and expanded clinics to triple the number of families who can benefit from publicly funded fertility treatment.

Rush announced two additional shows in Toronto
Only a couple of days after Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson surprised fans with plans for a Rush reunion tour, the pair has added 11 extra shows, including two more nights in Toronto.
The rockers say they'll play Scotiabank Arena on Aug. 11 and 13, 2026, which extends their run at the Toronto venue beyond the previously announced shows on Aug. 7 and 9.
The four nights are the only Canadian dates on Rush's schedule.
Word is they've found a female drummer to replace Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020.
