The dollar 73.71 cents U.S. I'm Stacey Englehart. Now a cold warning continues in Brantford this morning, but is expected to lift today. Cover up because frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin. Bad weather gets the blame for a series of collisions east of Toronto yesterday morning. The 401 had to be closed in both directions for several hours as a large portion of southern Ontario once again under some snow advisories. Areas in Simcoe County could get upwards of 30 centimeters. social media was buzzing yesterday after an earthquake struck just before 11 last night. Earthquakes Canada recorded a magnitude 3.7 quake near Orillia, while the U.S. Geological Survey registered the quake at 4.1. Now, according to reports, the earthquake was felt as far west as Kitchener through to Belleville and as far south as Niagara Falls. There's no immediate word on damage or injuries. Another power outage downtown Hamilton yesterday afternoon, making it the third outage in about a week. Electra said the recent outages occurred on the same underground feeder that serves Hamilton's downtown core. Amazon is cutting another 16,000 jobs in its latest round of mass layoffs for the tech industry. The announcement was made in a blog post today. The cuts follow a round of cuts in October when Amazon laid off 14,000 workers. And the Bank of Canada is expected to make an interest rate decision today, which could affect your variable rate mortgage. The policy rate is currently at 2.25%. Economists expect the bank to leave the benchmark rate unchanged. Sports, NHL last night, Leafs lost to Buffalo 7-4, their fifth straight loss. Elsewhere, Montreal edged Vegas in overtime. Winnipeg beat New Jersey. Vancouver lost to the Sharks. Leafs are in Seattle tomorrow at 10. OHL last night. The Rangers beat Sarnia Tonight, Kitchener is in Owen Sound at 7. PWHL tonight, Toronto is in Montreal at 6.30. And the Raptors host the Knicks tonight, 7.30. Weather, Environment Canada continued their cold warning into this morning. We've got a few flurries today. It's going to be windy and still cold with a risk of frostbite. Feeling minus 19 at the warmest part this afternoon.
